How to Make your Goals Possible, not Impossible - Where to BeginShare
Dieting is tricky for a lot of people, and one of the biggest reasons is because many people set impossible goals.
You want to close in on the future goals that are most realistic and easy to follow through with, and worry less about your distant future goals. You will reach this point at some point in time, but only if you hit your milestones along the way. Think of dieting techniques that you know are a bit easier to get the hang of, and you will be burning fat in no time.
Is your Goal Realistic?
Keep away from making drastic changes to the food you consume. For an extreme example, you probably do not want to switch from a standard American diet to vegan out of nowhere. This is very difficult to accomplish even with strong willpower to back you up. Instead, you should be looking into realistic approaches such as eating more breast meat from chicken and turkey, alongside some days of eating fish.
Also look at what you love to eat. Is it really possible to take it away from your body cold turkey? In the end it is possible, but it will generally last maybe a week or two before you go back to your normal way of life. Just stay away from fad diets that tend to be on the extremes or are not sustainable, and stick to removing small unhealthy favorites once a week, or whatever is more possible for you to keep track of.
Consider your Beginning Weight
If you are in the overweight category, think about how much time and energy you can put into your diet and exercise regimen. Dropping 40 lbs in two weeks is pretty impossible, but losing 10 lbs. is more realistic and easy for you to work hard towards. Also keep in mind that you have to do plenty of exercise to lose the higher goal amounts. You can definitely start seeing results later on if you chose to do the possible dieting choices you have created for yourself.
Unachieved goals are frustrating, but do not feel so bad about yourself if you did not make it to the point you wanted during your transformation. The real tragedy is not setting goals at all. There is generally plenty of time in your life to make a better you, but things do get in the way since every person is different. Keep your head high and stomach ready for the diet plan you have chosen for yourself, and drinking plenty of water is very important too!
